Roots, the “lifestyle brand” from Canada, will be opening a store at 1505 Abbot Kinney after renovations are made to the building. The 650 or so sq ft location was formerly home to Urban Escape, which will retain the back portion of the building for their skin care and hair salon.

The privately held Roots has more than 120 retail stores in Canada and the United States, with another 40+ stores in Asia. The mega-chain currently has a store at 371 North Beverly in Beverly Hills.
The store is expected to sell the Roots line of handcrafted leather goods, which include handbags, shoes and accessories.
