Movember, the decidedly lighthearted fundraising campaign which addresses the very serious issue of prostate and testicular cancer, will be starting here in Venice on October 27. Movember encourages all men to grow mustaches for the month of November to help raise awareness and funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation. To date, over $47 million has been raised through official moustache-growing campaigns in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, and Spain.
Locally, organizers in Venice will be supporting Movember starting with a clean shaven meet and greet happy hour from 6-11pm on Tuesday, October 27 at Nikki’s (72 Market St). Happy hour pricing will last until 11 and sponsors including Topo Ranch, Canadian Club, Wahl, Dermalogica, Arbitrage and Demitasse will be making everyone happy with some event prizes and pricing.
