The space that formerly housed Pam’s Place has been converted into a casual Mexican grill. Tlapazola Grill opened its doors in Venice on Monday, apparently relocating from a spot on Lincoln in the Marina. I stopped in this week and was happy to note that the owners have taken advantage of the existing walled in patio space and created an outdoor dining area that feels quiet and comfortable, despite its Venice Blvd. location. The menu features Southern Mexican appetizers and entrees. At the moment the restaurant lacks its liquor license, but it is open 7 nights a week for dinner and also serves lunch Tuesday through Sunday. Dinner entrees, which include old favorites like chicken with mole sauce, carnitas and carne asada, range between $13 and $18. Three cheers for a new casual spot in Abbot Kinney and for another patio option in Venice Beach!
