A Happy Thanksgiving was had by most in Venice!
Next year maybe we can all help some more!
From The Fruit Gallery:
Dear Friends,What a wonderful first annual “feed the beach” Thanksgiving Day. Yesterday really proved to show how much love and giving there is in our community. Every person there wanted so much to be there and lend their support. The overwhelming amount of food that was donated was astounding, every last serving was given out. The length of the line and the amount of time people were waiting to be served lasted for the full 2hrs (12pm – 2pm).
The great news to pass is we proudly served close to 400 people with all kinds of different food choices. The foods that were represented showed the diversity of cultures in Venice. Just like the intercultural diversity of people that were there we had: traditional thanksgiving food like turkey, stuffing, mash potatoes, gravy, and pie to Thai food, Indian food, Italian food, and Mexican food.We thank every supporter that gave in every aspect of giving. From serving to cleaning and people who cooked with so much love. We raised close to $800 in just 3 weeks, all from the residents of Venice !!! Thank you we were able to buy so much and even make toiletries bags.
Special thanks to Impacting Hearts.org for bringing the teenagers of this generation to help serve and set-up. There were 15 young men and woman who came with giving hearts and unselfish motives to help set-up, serve, clean, and smile. It was truly touching to see this generation getting involved in the community to help those less fortunate. We had more than 100 volunteers come out to show there support in such a small time frame (3 weeks).
