In case you hadn’t noticed…it’s windy out there!
Gusty northwest to north winds will blow across portions of southwestern California today shifting to Santa Ana tonight and Saturday.
Expect winds to will weaken somewhat this afternoon before increasing again tonight into Saturday and moving to northeast as a Santa Ana pattern develops.
The wind advisory remains in effect from 1 pm this afternoon to 9 pm PDT this evening. Areas of northwest to north winds will blow 15 to 25mph with gusts to 35 mph will develop this afternoon and persist through the evening.
Driving could prove difficult, especially for drivers of high-profile vehicles. Major roads that will be affected include highways 1 and 101 as well as 246 near Lompoc.
When driving, use extra caution. Be prepared for sudden gusty cross winds.
