The inaugural Venice Beach Surf & Skate Fest & Swapmeet will be held tomorrow from 11am-6pm at the Venice Farmer’s Market Lot at 2150 Dell Ave. This event looks like it will be awesome! During the event a charity raffle will be held with 100% of proceeds benefitting the Boys & Girls Club of Venice, so buy a ticket(s)!
The VBSSF is a free boutique community event celebrating the sports & lifestyle that brought resurgence in popularity to Venice after the beat era of the 60’s. The event is the brainchild of Venice resident, Brady Walker, who encourages all the locals to come out and enjoy an afternoon of camaraderie & fun.
The afternoon will include live music by Street Smart, The Venice Street Legends, surf band Closeout, L.A. Death Dolls and The Gods of Macho. Food vendors include Venice Ale House, Cairo Cowboy, and Flake. Partnering sponsors Pabst Blue Ribbon and Primo Hawaiian Beer will host a beer garden. Vending sponsors include Helen’s Cycles & Rider Shack. Pitfire Pizza, Jody Maroni and the Gasser Lounge will also be there!
The Long Board Collectors Club among many others will be part of a surf, skate & bicycle swap meet. Many vintage & modern collectors will have special items up for sale and exhibit, sharing the space with relevant street vendors and artists.
The Venice Family Clinic will be showcasing their surf and skateboard collection for their annual auction taking place on April 27th.
