Chef Conny Andersson’s AK Restaurant + Bar Closes, the current space will continue under new management.
VENICE, CA – June 19, 2009 – Chef Conny Andersson announces the separation from his financial partners at AK Restaurant + Bar and the effective closing of the chef’s restaurant effective June 20, 2009. Andersson will cook his final meal in the space on Saturday, June 20, 2009. The celebrated new restaurant opened on November 20, 2008 and received rave reviews from many news outlets and was featured on radio and television.
Andersson cites creative differences with his financial partners. The restaurant space at 1633 Abbot Kinney Boulevard will continue to be open under a different name and menu. No details are available about its future.
“The only thing that’s certain in life is change,” says Andersson. He currently searching for a new location to open AK in the Los Angeles area. Chef Andersson also recently opened The Spice Mill, on the island of St. Kitts at Cockleshell Beach.
