The man interviewed by police as a possible suspect in Monday Morning’s “hot prowl” has been released.
Police warn Venice residents to be careful to lock all doors and windows before going to bed after a Venice woman woke up to find a prowler standing at the foot of her bed.
It is believed the man entered her home through an open window. The woman managed to flee her residence to call authorities, police said.
The “hot prowl” occurred at 3:10 a.m. on Monday morning inside a studio apartment at 28th Avenue and Speedway, said Lt. Joseph Sanchez of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Station.
“A woman awakened to find the man standing at the foot of her bed holding what she feared was a knife,” Sanchez said.
“They had a short conversation and he went into the kitchen, which
allowed her to run outside and to a neighbor’s apartment to call police,” he said.
The suspect was gone when police arrived, Sanchez said. A search of the area turned up a possible suspect, but the man was
interviewed and released, police said.
