From the Venice Neighborhood Council:
The VNC Board of Officers is pleased to announce that additional funds for Community Improvement Projects are available this year! The Board allocated the funds due to a change in the City’s funding guidelines. Applications must be postmarked on or before October 3, 2011!
Community organizations and individuals are invited to apply for a special round of Community Improvement Project funding. Applicants may propose projects to be funded for a maximum of $3,000.00.
Previous years’ projects have included school and community gardens, murals, street cleanups, a sewing class, and several concerts (from classical to rock).
Start the application process by getting a copy from the Venice Public Library, the Vera Davis Center, or at the VNC’s table the Venice Farmers’ Market, or download it here. Review the rules – if your idea qualifies (be sure to pay attention to what the funding can and can’t be used for), then apply!
• Proposed projects must begin after Feb 1, 2012
• Projects must be completed before April 15, 2012
• Current recipients of 2011-2012 Community Improvement funds are NOT eligible to apply for additional funding.
