Two Venice locals challenged incumbent Mike Bonin yesterday at the Los Angeles Primary Elections. But their challenge was not enough to dent Bonin’s majority win.
Bonin will continue as Councilmember to Los Angeles Council District 11 after winning 70% of the votes yesterday. Any candidate needed a majority, more than 50 percent, to win the seat. If that hadn’t happened the top vote-getters would have gone into the general election on May 16th, 2017.
Results were:
Mike Bonin – 19,099 70%
Mark Ryavec – 4,494 16.5%
Robin Rudisill – 3,695 13.5%
