Movember Starts October 27th in Venice

Movember, the decidedly lighthearted fundraising campaign which addresses the very serious issue of prostate and testicular cancer, will be starting here in Venice on October 27. Movember encourages all men to grow mustaches for the month of November to help raise awareness and funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Watch this video to get a quick idea of what the event is.

To date, over $47 million has been raised through official moustache-growing campaigns in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, and Spain.

Locally, organizers in Venice will be supporting Movember starting with a clean shaven meet and greet happy hour from 6-11pm on Tuesday, October 27 at Nikki’s (72 Market St). Happy hour pricing will last until 11 and sponsors including Topo Ranch, Canadian Club, Wahl, Dermalogica, Arbitrage and Demitasse will be making everyone happy with some event prizes and pricing.

Movember

If any Venecians want to participate individually or by forming teams, please contact the local Movember organizer here. She is arranging weekly mustache happy hours so participants can share in some friendly mustache growing rivalry and laughs during Movember.

If any local businesses would like to form an office team to join in, Yo! Venice! would be happy to support this cause by writing up a story on your business at the end of Movember with pictures of the participants.
