Councilmen Bill Rosendahl and Richard Alarcon introduced a resolution to support the Occupy L.A. participants today. “Occupy LA” has been happening at City Hall since Saturday and is Los Angeles’ response to Occupy Wall Street. Both protests are against irresponsible corporate practices.
The resolution will be up for a full council vote next Tuesday but appears to have unanimous council support. Of key importance is the discussion of the Responsible Banking Action program, which would evaluate banks that handle City monies in regard to their “Community Reinvestment Score”.
