Venice Shorts: RVs Return in a Matter of Days along Washington Blvd

Eight RVs now parked again along Washington Boulevard on both sides of the street, what can be done to stop this encampment madness?

For as quick as LA city officials can clean and sweep some of the busiest arteries here in Venice, these campers and RV’s come right back to a newly cleaned sidewalk that has area residents angry and upset.

For this image taken today, Tuesday April 23rd, and is a stark example of the “one-step forward, two-steps backward” cycle of eliminating these mobile campers from the streets of Venice.

For where is the enforcement once an area has been cleaned and why are these illegally parked vehicles allowed to come back and violate the law again and again?

This is the area of Washington behind the Hilton Garden Inn which entrance is on Admiralty Way.

Area residents praised local officials for the clean-up, but this immediate return of these vehicles has locals exhausted and dumb-founded.

If there is no enforcement of anti-camping ordinances, this vicious cycle of clean-ups followed by the return of RV’s and campers has to put a strain on city services and weigh heavily on the ability to keep these main arteries clean and safe.

Yo! Venice will continue to monitor the situation and hopefully city officials can retool and address this latest RV encampment.
