Best Ways to Get Around the Greater Los Angeles Area

Mobility can be an issue in some regions of the nation, but that’s not the case in the City of Angels. Los Angeles has invested in making sure people can get around in various ways. The following are some ways to do so.

With the Metro Pass

You can get almost anywhere in LA using a Metro pass. This lets you use the light rail commuter train system connecting many neighborhoods across the city. The pass could give you rides all day, week, or even the whole month. You can travel from Los Angeles to places like Pasadena or even Hollywood using nothing but the trains and buses throughout the area. Part of the reason public transportation is right is that you get to see more of the city this way. You get to interact with the people of this city, and you get to do it without worrying about driving in traffic.

Electric Option

People were scared of buying an electric car or renting one because there wasn’t anywhere to charge it except back home. The good thing about being in a progressive area like Los Angeles is they are thinking about these sorts of issues. It’s never been easier for EV motorists to find fast car chargers across LA and Orange County. Hopefully, more of these types of chargers keep showing up around the nation and world.

The Rideshare Way

Ridesharing is a big thing in LA and the surrounding areas. It’s a fun way to get around and to get to know Angelinos. Don’t squander the opportunity to talk and find out what’s good in LA from someone who knows the area well. On top of that, many people are doing this type of gig, so you won’t have to wait too long for a ride. If you have the time to wait, make sure you pay attention to when you take this ride. There are certain times of the day, mainly around rush hour, when rideshare apps add a bit of a surcharge, so try to avoid those times.

The Scooter

This one might be pretty fun. Los Angeles just introduced motorized scooters around the city. People can rent motorized scooters and zip around the city without driving or get on public transportation. Of course, if you’re going to do this, it’s essential to wear protective gear like a helmet along with knee and elbow pads. The bad thing is these scooters aren’t everywhere just yet, but they can be found in some of the most popular areas like Santa Monica or East LA, just to name a few places.

Just Walking

There’s so much to see and do in Los Angeles that sometimes the best thing you can do is just walk around. The slower you move throughout this area, the more you’ll get to discover. The faster you move, the easier it’ll be to miss that hole in the wall restaurant or boutique. If you want to get the most out of your travels, then consider walking around. If you’re going to do this, make sure you bring along a water bottle because it does get hot in California, and you don’t want to get dehydrated. Make sure you wear your UV protection while walking or anything else you do in Los Angeles.

These are just some ways you can get around this area, but there are others to consider. For example, you could just bike around, or you could try to do some errands on roller skates, whatever you want to do.
