Throughout the year, Artists and local businesses join forces and create a series of pop-up galleries around Venice as part of The Venice Art Crawl. The innovative set of events are about “bringing art and community together,” says VAC President and local Venice artist, Sunny Bak.
Bak is part of the original team who kickstarted the Venice Art Crawl seven years ago. The team included Edizen Stowell of Venice Paparazzi, Mike Newhouse, and Daniel Samakow. “It all started with community meetings, which we now do as mixers on months there is no crawl,” said Bak
The VAC is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization that supports the Arts in Venice Beach. This year’s Art Crawl dates are; March 16th, May 18th, July 20th, September 21st.
“Venice is an arts community but it is losing many of its artists and galleries. It is vital for the community to support the arts, especially now,” said Bak.
