The National Weather Service (NWS) warns dense fog will engulf the Los Angeles county coast from Malibu to Long Beach, including Venice Beach.
The advisory is in effect until midnight tonight. The NWS says the fog will begin near the coast this afternoon. It is expected to spead inland this evening and could reach as far as Downtown Los Angeles.
The NWS warns the fog will cause dangerous driving conditions, cutting visibility to one quarter mile or less. To be safe, reduce speed and increase following distance, use low beam headlights and allow extra time to reach your destination.
Airport delays at LAX and Long Beach are expected.
