A source at the LAPD has confirmed that there was a shooting this evening in Venice near 7th and Broadway at roughly 7:20pm. The source said no one was hit.
UPDATE: SGT. Reina of the LAPD Pacific Division told me that it appears an 18-23 year old Hispanic male drove up to the park, confronted some people that were already in the park and then while walking back to his vehicle opened fire.
The suspect’s car is a late 90’s four door that is grey in color … likely a Honda. If you have any information on this, please call LAPD Pacific Division at 310-482-6334
Witness “B” said that they believed there were five shots, it was apparently a “drive-by” and that three LAPD units were on the scene within two minutes of the shots.
