The City of Santa Monica “Big Blue Bus” offers bus service to and from the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl on New Years Day. The 121st Rose Parade, “A Cut Above the Rest,” will feature Grand Marshal Captain Chesley Burnett “Sully” Sullenberger III who successfully carried out the emergency ditching of US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River, on January 15, 2009, thus saving the lives of all 155 people aboard the aircraft.
