It Opened as a Sister Restaurant Adjacent to American Kitchen Eatery Gjelina
An Abbot Kinney Boulevard takeout spot has quietly closed its doors with plans to reopen with an updated menu, according to LA Eater.
Gjelina Take Away, located at 1427 Abbot Kinney and known for its wood-fired pizzas and a multitude of sandwich options, closed on June 2. According to Eater, CEO and partner of the Gjelina Group Shelley Armistead said GTA intends to reopen under the same ownership and with an “updated menu structure and offerings.” A timeline for the reopening nor details about menu changes were provided.
Launched in 2011, GTA opened as a sister restaurant adjacent to American kitchen eatery Gjelina. According to its website, its current menu includes A La Carte options such as Pork Meatballs and Wagyu Brisket Plate, salads, sandwiches, and pizzas including the Blanco (garlic confit, four cheeses, green olives) and Lamb Sausage (tomato confit, rapini, asiago, pecorino).
GTA is managed by The Gjelina Group which also operates Gjusta bakery, Gjusta Grocer, and Vitorrja and event space on Rose Avenue in addition to eateries in New York City, according to Eater.
