The CLARE Foundation held a dedication ceremony last Thursday for their new Women’s Treatment Program Facility at 844 Pico in Santa Monica. Speakers included CLARE Executive Director Nicholas Vrataric, CLARE board member Dorothy Richards and Gleam Davis and Kevin McKeown of the Santa Monica City Council.
Started in 2003, the CLARE Women’s Treatment Program offers women short and long-term residential treatment designed to address underlying issues specific to women in recovery. The newly renovated building features 40 beds and will provide gender-responsive detoxification services, primary care and long-term residential services.

“Through this newly renovated facility, CLARE will be able to provide effective, cost-efficient treatment and recovery services to nearly 275 women each year,” said CLARE Executive Director Nicholas Vrataric. “We are grateful that the support of our funders and our community has allowed us to offer this resource to so many women in need.”
CLARE raised $2.5 million to fund renovations to this former sober living residence with support from The Annenberg Foundation, The California Department of Housing and Community Development Emergency Housing and Assistance Program Capital Development (EHAPCD), The Community Development Commission of the County of Los Angeles, Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, Third District and The City of Santa Monica.
