Recode has an entertaining piece up today “Party Boys and Fighting Words: The Battle Over “Silicon Beach”. Apparently the branding “Silicon Beach” is not popular among some in Los Angeles venture capital and startup circles, given that it’s derivative of the Northern California tech hub, and that it connotes a less “serious” tech community here in the country’s second largest city. The man who claims to have coined the term, angel investor Paige Craig, says that in six years, nobody has come up with a better name. And the debate goes on.
