The Venice Oceanarium will begin its annual ocean side reading of Herman Melville’s Moby Dick (first published on Oct. 18, 1851) at 8am on Saturday, November 23rd. The group will read until 10pm or so and then regroup on Sunday the 24th to finish the novel, which usually happens between 9 and 10 pm.
Started in 1995, this 28 hour long annual reading welcomes volunteer readers and listeners to pull up a seat and read from the novel or just listen. Bring a blanket or chair, some water and sun screen and make an hour or day (or two) of it! Bring friends, bring kids – it’s fun for the whole family!
