Are you new to Venice? Live here but never bothered to attend the Neighborhood Council (VNC) BBQ? Get off the couch and make the time to go meet some of your neighbors this Saturday from 12-4pm at Oakwood Park! Doing so only takes a little bit of effort, but you may finish the day one friend richer!
From the VNC:
Chicken, burgers, hot dogs (veggie too), and pulled pork will be served up by Venice’s own fire fighters from LAFD Station 63, grilled by Captain Jeremiah Johnson and master grillers, Barklie Griggs and Todd von Hoffmann.
We will be joined by special guests including Councilmember Mike Bonin, City Attorney Mike Feuer, Senator Ted Lieu, and General Manager of Department of Neighborhood Empowerment Grayce Liu. We will enjoy a variety of musical acts including blues and funk bands with headliners the legendary Bonedaddys.
Please bring a side dish, salad or dessert to receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of the many prizes donated by local businesses. Join us for fun games for adults and kids, including watermelon-eating contests, a rope pull, and a bouncy house. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate the diversity that makes Venice a great and unique community.
The event is FREE, open to all and organized by the Venice Neighborhood Council.
Street parking is available but we encourage you to walk and bike over.
