At 7:30 this morning, a homeless man allegedly attempted to steal a skateboard from someone on Ocean Front Walk. During the attempted robbery, the man stabbed the intended victims dog. Lensman Tony Vera heard the commotion and went to see what happened. Here is the video:
As overheard in the video, the alleged “stabber” is apparently well known as a trouble maker on the boardwalk and it apparently has been noted to the LAPD before that this man is in possession of a large knife.

It is a felony to stab an animal, as pets are considered “real” property.
