Three people have been shot at Penmar Park. One is in critical condition after being shot in the chest. The suspects have not been taken into custody as of 4:30pm, so stay alert and safe!
Update: The LATimes is reporting that one man died at the scene.
Update: 5:35pm: Spoke with an LAPD officer who confirmed that one man died at the scene. The suspect vehicle may be a grey sedan (possibly a VW or similar) or blue Toyota 4 Runner. LAPD is looking for them. It may be gang related but the officer said it would be premature to conclude that.
Update: 5:55 pm: NBC is reporting a second man has died and the LAPD is looking for as many as five suspects, believed to be Hispanic males between 18-19 years old.
Update: 7:30pm Dennis Romero of the LA Weekly was on scene and reports:
The shooting victims had just graduated from an adult day school and were at Penmar Park this afternoon to celebrate. Investigators have found nine casings from a 9mm.
