Short-Term Rental Interests Spike Amid The Pandemic

As the nation battles what seems to be the second wave of the coronavirus, the need for reliable yet short-term housing has increased. First responders, essential workers, and displaced residents are always looking for a place to call home during these difficult times. Fortunately, there are communities like Venice Beach, where short-term housing options are plentiful.

Whether to safeguard their families’ wellbeing, be closer to a sick relative, or wait for an apartment application or house closing, short-term rentals provide a way for people to continue operating amid the pandemic. These vacant homes, apartments, and rooms are easily accessible, affordable, and convenient. They don’t require lengthy applications or large security deposits. You pay as you go making it convenient for any budget or lifestyle.

Health and Safety

Vacation rentals or short-term housing allows those in need to prioritize their health and safety. As first responders spend 8-16 hours in environments that put them at great risk of contracting the coronavirus, it also puts their families at risk. All it takes is one cough, touch, or moment of prolonged exposure for your family to contract and spread COVID-19.

Deciding to leave home is hard but often necessary. If entering into a one-year lease agreement isn’t ideal, a short-term rental resolves the problem. Such conveniences allow the first responder to have affordable shelter while protecting their family.

Comforts Of Home

Another reason short-term rentals are popular is that they provide you with all the conveniences of home. Unlike hotel rooms, where amenities are limited to a microwave, mini-fridge, and desk, vacation rentals have everything you need. Whether you need multiple bedrooms and a fully-equipped kitchen or a living room and backyard, there’s a rental available to meet those needs.

Entertainment

Staying close to home gets boring after a while. Fortunately, renters have the option to select a home that is comfortable and entertaining. From spacious living rooms with large flat screens on a tv stand with mount and plush sectional couches for killer watch parties to decks, outdoor kitchens, and pools for cookouts in the summertime, there’s no shortage of options available to keep you entertained.

Affordability

A nightly stay in a hotel with the amenities you need could set you back several hundred dollars. This is obviously an issue for someone struggling with money or trying to maintain financial obligations at home. Short-term rentals, however, are priced competitively to meet the needs of almost any budget. Whether your budget is $50 a night or you have more to spare, several rentals are available to meet your needs.

Local Conveniences

Short-term rentals allow occupants to live as the locals would. With properties located in suburban and rural neighborhoods, renters have access to things they need. Whether it’s a grocery store and shopping center or a doctor’s office and local government offices, tenants can take advantage of the local conveniences using personal vehicles, rideshare services, cabs, or public transportation.

Peace of Mind

Above all else, short-term rentals provide peace of mind. When everything that could go wrong has, renters, can find comfort in knowing they have a place to stay. First responders could continue supporting their communities without compromising their families. Those that wanted to be closer to loved ones could do so without uprooting their lives. People who found themselves displaced due to foreclosure, eviction, or property sale could secure temporary housing without much hassle. Short-term rentals give each of these groups a safe and efficient means of shelter during uncertain times.

The coronavirus pandemic came along and wreaked havoc on everyday life. Whether occupational, economic, or political (shutdowns, social distancing, etc.), millions were forced to find shelter. Short-term rentals, while once popular for vacationing, suddenly became a feasible option. With few eligibility requirements, millions of available units, and reasonable rates, housing rentals are the popular choice for individuals amid the pandemic. As the nation begins its quest for normalcy, chances are the need for short-term housing won’t go away anytime soon.
