Bridge repair work continues in the Venice Canals, which is being carried out by the City’s General Services Department crews. Repair work began in October and will continue through the end of the year.
Each of the bridges will be worked on in turn, with protective plastic hanging underneath the bridges to protect the water from any construction debris.
The work includes sanding, replacing or adding screws to planks, applying non-slip paint and more.
“Most importantly, the work will maintain the unique and rustic character of the bridges,” said Councilman Mike Bonin (pictured) who helped out replacing and adding screws to planks last Monday.
