No doubt you’ve heard the rumors, Hal’s Bar & Grill, the recently closed Abbot Kinney favorite set to take over the current home of Primitivo Wine Bistro, one of LA’s first and much-loved neighborhood wine bars.
Well the OG’s of AK have announced; they are joining forces.
Primitivo owners, Mary Vernieu and Daniel Deny will close Primitivo Sunday, August 30th and are planning some celebratory events before the end of the month to thank their loyal patrons. “We’re grateful for our 13 and a half year run–sharing our passion for wine and food with the Venice community, educating people in a warm environment, encouraging our guests to explore the world of wines and enjoy them with simple, yummy food, prepared by hand from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, eaten family-style.” said Vernieu and Deny in a joint statement.

Hal’s Bar & Grill co-owner, Don Novack added, “We’re excited to be joining forces with Primitivo and look forward to working with their team to create a new concept that will open soon. This enables us to fulfill our promise to continue serving the Venice community that we’ve been part of for 30 years.”
Standby Venice!
