Listen up landlords: Abbot Kinney is “cool” right now because it is (or was?) unique. $10-$12+ sq ft rents are “good” for you in the short term, but will kill off any remaining “coolness” the street has when all that remains are loss leaders for big chains better suited for shopping malls.
