This week’s random collectible bicycle is for someone that wants a project. The rarest of the rare, a Gary Littlejohn sidehack is up for sale on Craigslist in Boston. The owner is asking for $140 or best offer.
In need of some TLC, including the fabrication of the uprights, fender and seat for the sidehack “monkey” and possibly the hack to frame mounts, if paired with a ’78 or so Mongoose, these sidecars command good money in the collector bicycle world. Elco on Abbot Kinney would be able to put it in “as new” shape. Check out this fully restored hack with moto-mags all around!
The Littlejohn company operated out of North Hollywood from 1973-1985, founded by Hollywood stuntman and motorcycle racer Gary Littlejohn. Most of the hacks were made of 4130 Chrome Moly.
If you want to own one of the coolest bicycles in Venice, get to projecting!
