The Social and Public Art Resource Center (SPARC) will host an opening reception for “I Can: Requiem for I Can’t” on Saturday, March 31st from 2-4PM. Barbara T. Smith will perform and Nina Jun will create a new installation during the festivities. The event is free and open to the public!
From SPARC:
Lead artists Barbara T. Smith and Nina Jun, in collaboration with A Window Between Worlds (AWBW), have designed a participatory project and installation that creates transformation from domestic violence and sexual assault. Designed to mobilize survivors statewide, the public component of this art work will launch with an installation and performance building upon AWBW’s 20 years of pioneering experience using art against abuse.
