The National Weather Service has issued a “coastal hazard message” for Los Angeles as of 4am today.
High surf advisory remains in effect until 10 pm pst this evening…
* surf…Breakers 6 to 8 feet will continue today. Local sets to 10 feet are possible on exposed west facing beaches. Surf is expected to begin to subside slowly this evening.
* impacts …strong rip currents will likely exist in the vicinity of the breakers and make swimming or surfing potentially dangerous for anyone.
Precautionary/preparedness actions… A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in the advisory area… Producing rip currents and localized beach erosion. Avoid standing on rocks or jetties near the waters edge and remember to never turn your back on the ocean.
