Part-Time Media Arts Assistant
Venice Arts is seeking a part-time Media Arts Assistant.
The Media Arts Assistant duties and responsibilities include managing the darkroom and digital labs; providing classroom support in the form of set-up, breakdown, and equipment maintenance; assisting with youth exhibits; assisting with Beyond MySpace (interactive, educational website); helping to maintain the digital archive. This position is a one-year, rotating, post-graduate Assistantship and is tentatively scheduled to end June 30, 2011.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is a graduate of a photography, photojournalism, or multi-media program with experience working in analog and digitally. She or he must be extremely well-organized, detailed-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities. Must demonstrate a high level of expertise with cameras, computers, and software, and must be extremely comfortable with technology. Experience with tech-based problem-solving and software installation, a plus.

Internship for Students of USC Global Health Institute
Venice Arts and the USC Global Health Institute are making an internship available to USC students affiliated with the Global Health Institute:
Web Assistant
This 20-hour per week Internship provides web support both for the IPE website (live link to www.joinipe.org) and for the Global Health Institute website (10 hours, each). The following duties and responsibilities for the IPE portion of the internship include: researching and compiling participant-produced projects from around the world, particularly those with an emphasis on public health; identifying interesting issues in the field or unique projects that might comprise an IPE story feature; drafting IPE story features; maintaining the IPE website.
This position pays $15 per hour. The commitment is 20 hours per week with time split equally between maintaining the Institute for Global Health’s website and the IPE site. The position will run from February 2010 – December 2010 with possibility of extension.
