The Venice Neighborhood Council Board funded eleven Community Improvement Projects at its June Board meeting. This marks the second year that the VNC’s innovative system of competitive funding for Community Improvement Projects has been used. Mike Newhouse, President of the VNC said: “Our Neighborhood Committee’s Community Improvement Project track record last year was amazing – we were able to provide over $39,000 to 19 projects. In this year of shrinking budgets I think it is remarkable that we were able to distribute $20,000, over 30% of our total funding, to 11 projects dedicated to improving the quality of life in Venice.”
