This New Year’s eve, there will be a benefit party at The Venice Beach Penthouse for the continuing relief efforts in Haiti. Much of the promised relief funds from around the globe were never sent to Haiti, leaving the people and their infrastructure in a contining state of peril almost a year after an earthquake devastated their country.
The New Year’s Benefit for Haiti will include “delicious h’ors d’oeuvres, divine California wine, and music by world-renowned jazz saxophonist Azar Lawrence”.

Please join me to celebrate and appreciate the tireless efforts of a few, who are not indifferent to Haiti or her people. Enjoy delicious h’ors d’oeuvres, divine California wine, and music by world-renowned jazz saxophonist Azar Lawrence.
The goal of this New Year’s Eve benefit is to raise money for The Indifference Project; a non-profit started by Stefanie Fletcher, a nurse who has been in Haiti since the earthquake. The idea was born after many months of watching the Haitian people suffer and the nagging question, “When does indifference become a crime against humanity?”
The Haitian people are still waiting for the nearly $13 billion dollars either donated by individuals, organizations or pledged by foreign governments. The majority of homes, offices, and other buildings remain exactly as they were on January 12, 2010 after the 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit Haiti.
Sadly, little has changed in the devastated physical landscape of Haiti since the earthquake. Now, the lives of her people are again at risk; haunted by the epidemic outbreak of Cholera. The Indifference Project, like many other smaller non-profit organizations, is committed to improving the lives of Haitian people despite overwhelming obstacles.
Please join me on this New Year’s Eve to celebrate and meet with friends who have been volunteering in Haiti. Stefanie Fletcher, a nurse who has been volunteering in Haiti since the earthquake and her two sons Brett and David.
You will meet Jean Claude, a respected Haitian artist and musician, who will have his artwork on display. We will also feature stunning photographs of post earthquake Haiti and her beautiful people, taken by well-known photographer Alan de Hererra.
