9:02am
Venice neighbors are invited to indulge in wine and delicious plant-based appetizers at a fundraiser this Sunday, August 14th at Plant Food + Wine, 1009 Abbot Kinney Blvd.
The event will run from 4:30pm – 6:30pm entry is via donation. Money raised goes towards Community Healing Gardens, a local non-profit that creates urban gardens to provide sustainable, nutritious food to diverse and underserved communities. Their boxes line the streets of Venice, from 4th – 7th Avenues. They also have been working with the community and a school in Watts.
On Sunday the Community Healing Gardens team will announce their Venice Improvement Project collaboration with architect David Hertz, Sky Source, and Dharma Kitchen.
The spread will be prepared by Mathew Kenney Culinary students. Located in Miami, Maine, Thailand, and in Venice, in the space above the restaurant on Abbot Kinney Blvd. The school is the world’s first classically structured plant-based culinary institution.
Last year OpenTable.com named Plant Food + Wine one of the Top Vegetarian & Vegan Friendly Restaurants in the US. See for yourself on Sunday, and support a great local Charity.
