Shortly past 1pm this afternoon, there was a shooting in the north/south alley between 4th and 5th and Vernon and Indiana in Venice.

Officer Sara Faden of LAPD Media Relations relates that it was a single victim shooting. An unknown suspect or suspects fired several times at a male black man in his late 20’s, striking him in the face and the hip.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, his current condition related as “unknown” as of 6:30pm.
The investigation is ongoing, with no suspects noted in custody as of 6:30pm.
