Malibu has a fancy new library and to celebrate they have invited all of us in Venice to come visit during their new “Malibu Speaker Series”, a partnership between the City of Malibu and the County of Los Angeles Public Library.
The series, which is free and open to the public, features an array of renowned authors and public speakers who expose their audiences to some of the greatest thoughts, insights and influential minds of our time. As of now, speakers include Garth Stein, Kerry Max Cook, Anne Lamott and Elizabeth Gilbert.
The 2013 Malibu Speaker Series kicks off Monday, March 18 at 7 p.m. with author Garth Stein, who will deliver a special reading and presentation on his New York Times bestselling novel, The Art of Racing in the Rain. The “heart-wrenching, humorous and uplifting novel tells the story of Enzo, a dog who gains tremendous insight into the human condition”.
