Essentials for Walking Around Venice Beach

Venice Beach is known for a few things. Everyone who comes to this famous beach realizes a few things. They notice the bodybuilders at Muscle Beach. They smell the marijuana. They remember the people watching. Most unmistakably, though, is the atmosphere. The vibe of Venice Beach is unique. It’s no wonder why so many people walk around Venice Beach to watch and enjoy the day. When you are planning on spending a day at Venice Beach, below are some essentials for walking around.

Comfortable Shoes

One of the most important things to bring with you anywhere you are going to walk a lot is a pair of comfortable shoes. You will be walking in Venice, and you could end up strolling a lot more than you thought. Plus, the boardwalk can have some things you’ll want to avoid stepping on. When it comes to walking around, Venice Beach is one of the best options. Bring a pair of comfortable shoes and you will be able to take a walk and enjoy the day.

Sunglasses

You’re near the beach. The sun will likely be out. It is a good time to have a pair of sunglasses. Not only do you protect your eyes from the Sun, but you will also be covering them from the wind. If you’re a tourist, you can avoid people knowing by looking into the amazed look in your eyes. There are mostly sunny days in Venice. When you are spending time on the beach, on a café patio, or walking on the boardwalk, sunglasses will come in handy.

Your Favorite Dog

Dog walking is very popular in Venice Beach. It is a great place to bring your companion or a friend who has a dog. Venice is, for the most part, dog friendly. People will even tell you how much they love your dog. Of course, you should always pick up after your dog and make sure to show proper etiquette. Only certain beaches are dog friendly. When you show respect and bring a dog to Venice, it will be a great day near the ocean. Even if you’re local to Los Angeles, next time you want to walk your dog bring them to Venice!

A Skateboard

Whether you’re a dedicated skateboarder or just like to ride a longboard around, Venice Beach is great for skating. There is a famous skatepark where local skaters practice and showcase their chops. You can skate the park or ride down the boardwalk in style. There are plenty of places to go when you have a skateboard. You could skate up Santa Monica and back. You can wind through the beach streets. Spend a day at the skatepark. Whatever you’re into, if you know how to ride a skateboard you won’t regret bringing it along with you.

Sunscreen

One of the biggest essentials for spending time in any beach area is sunscreen. You shouldn’t take the risk of burning your skin when you are spending the whole day in the sun. Will you swim? You should apply sunscreen ahead of time and make sure it dries. Even if you’re just walking around, sunscreen is essential to avoid burning. The sun is powerful in Venice Beach. Don’t get arrogant and think your skin will be alright. You will regret it big time when you are burnt to a crisp.

Venice Beach is a great destination for locals and tourists alike. There are plenty of different things to do, places to see, and people to watch. If you spend any time in the area, you will be able to take in all the culture of the local area. Whether you are spending a day, a week, or planning on moving to Venice, whenever you are out walking the boardwalk, taking in the ocean breeze, or watching all the fascinating people, Venice requires a few things.

Bring a comfortable pair of shoes, some sunscreen, a dog, a skateboard, and a pair of sunglasses. You will already be looking like a local. Whether you live in Los Angeles or are visiting from far away, making the effort to fit into Venice Beach will pay off. People will leave you alone enough but talk to you when you are willing. It’s an incredible place full of surprises.
