Millions of people are getting vaccinated every day. While it is still possible to contract and transmit the COVID-19 virus if you are vaccinated, they were designed to mitigate the symptoms to lower both hospitalizations and deaths. If the virus has shown anything, it’s that it affects people differently and randomly. Needless to say there is a lot of peace of mind involved in getting vaccinated. People want to return to their lives. They want to do things they used to do. Everyone has a different level of comfortability. With so many places we’ve been missing, returning to them will be a time of celebration.
The Gym
Sweat flies and particles are in the air at the gym. Gyms have suffered because people don’t feel comfortable going to a place where people emit aerosols. As people get vaccinated and gyms reopen in places like New York, there is no reason that you shouldn’t be able to go work out at the gym. Once people are vaccinated, they may feel better about exercising in a place where other people are doing the same. It’s always easier to motivate yourself to work out when other people are doing the same, return to the gym and see how it feels.
Casinos
While casinos are known for good air ventilation, there are a lot of people gambling, drinking, and having a good time. It may make you uneasy to be around that many people, whether they’re wearing masks or not, after you get vaccinated it might change how you feel. Take a look at casinos in California, where the cases have finally dropped and the state plans to fully open up in June. You will probably want to remain cautious about being around a lot of people, but if you are vaccinated you’ll feel more comfortable and gain the peace of mind to have fun.
Dive Bars
Dive bars are not great for the pandemic. They are dark and musty and typically tightly packed. Alcoholics have a difficult time distancing. While they aren’t the safest place to go, you might want to feel that great feeling of being at a diver bar once you are fully vaccinated. If you miss cheap drinks, drunken shenanigans, and interesting characters, you probably miss a good dive bar. It will feel really good to take that mask off at a bar without guilt or worry that you’re going to suffer from COVID-19.
Movie Theatres
We can all get behind going to the movies. Also a dark and musty environment, movie theatres are opening to the public. For some it has been an entire year since they watched a movie on the big screen. We all want to get some popcorn, drink a soda, and view the latest great film without worrying about the pandemic. Since you are seated and can distance when it’s not full, people will be happy to go back to the movies. It is a welcome return to some form of relative normalcy.
Go Abroad
Of course the vaccine isn’t full-proof, a lot of countries are accepting American travelers who are vaccinated. The European Union has decided to allow vaccinated American citizens. EU member states have agreed to take in travelers who have been vaccinated with vaccines that are approved by the European Medicines Agency. If you feel comfortable, traveling outside of the country will be a great return if you traveled a lot before the pandemic. While there isn’t a specific timeline for reopening, Europe will be open for vaccinated travel this summer.
We are all excited to return to the places we used to go and the things we used to do. Everyone is different and has their own level of comfort when it comes to what they’re willing to do and where they’re going to go after being vaccinated. With the peace of mind that you will have some form of protection from the virus. Whether it’s simply going to the movies or traveling abroad, you will likely change the way you feel after you are fully vaccinated. The pandemic is far from over, but we have to open the economy and live again. The vaccine will help us get there.
