Fishing at Venice Pier in the Spotlight

Following the frightening shark attack on a swimmer this Saturday, and today’s announcement that the ban on fishing from Manhattan Beach Pier will extend until September, journalists at the LA Weekly, and the Open Daily are asking whether fishing at all L.A. area piers should be banned. With the closure of the Manhattan Beach pier, there will almost certainly be more lines in the water in Venice, but as the article from NBC4 notes, “Lifeguards said it had been more than a century since someone has been attacked by a shark in Los Angeles County.” What say all of ye?
