At approximately 8:20 this evening, it is believed that two males were shot in the 800 block of Indiana. One male was transported to the hospital with wounds, but there are no official details on his condition at this point.
LAPD Media relations said that accurate information is severely limited at this time, but they should have more info in an hour. (10pm)
Update (10:15pm): Two victims were shot. One was treated at the scene and then taken to a local hospital, one was immediately taken to a local hospital and treated. Both victims had non life threatening injuries.
It is unclear how many suspects were involved, the LAPD is interviewing witnesses. As of now it is believed that there were as many as 3-5 suspects/ shooters.
The motive for the shooting is not clear, witnesses and victims will be interviewed.
The LAPD officer I spoke with noted that “in general” the Oakwood neighborhood of Venice has been relatively peaceful as of late.
