WILL Leather Goods (1360 Abbot Kinney) will be launching their first “GIVE WILL” program next Friday, November 1st, at Westminster Avenue Elementary School on Abbot Kinney.
GIVE WILL is a philanthropic program that aims to inspire public school students to dream big. WILL Leather Goods is donating 350 exclusive GIVE WILL backpacks to Westminster Avenue so that each student will have a bag to “carry their dreams in.” In order to receive one, each student must write out their dream directly on the back of the bag as a daily reminder of what they can achieve through education.
10% of every WILL Leather Goods purchase will be used to fund this program. The company plans to give away 100,000 bags over the next 5 years to public elementary schools across the nation.
WILL CEO and founder, Will Adler, chose Westminster Avenue as the launch location of this program as Venice holds a special place in his heart; 30 years ago Will started his first company, Billy Belts, just a few miles away on the Venice Boardwalk, when he was an out of work actor during the SAG strike and needed a way to support his family.
The next GIVE WILL stop is planned for Portland, OR (in the home state of the company’s headquarters which are based in Eugene) scheduled for early next year.
