The M. Herrington “pop up” Gallery has opened at 1221 Abbot Kinney. The gallery, which emphasizes women in the arts, will host a variety of events between now and June 30th. The gallery schedule is after “the jump”.
Artists featured in the gallery and those to be exhibited include Melissa Herrington, Mari Andrews, Britt Bass, Elizabeth Orleans, Tracey Lane, Asia Mathis, Cait O’Connor, Natalie Tyler and Michelle Wiener.
From The M Herrington Gallery:
Curator and artist Melissa Herrington has been able to bring a fine art aesthetic and marry it seamlessly to the cultural hip-ness that is uniquely ‘Abbot Kinney.’ Her work features mixed media paintings that oscillate between the representational and the abstract. Herrington says, “I wanted to offer the opportunity for experimentation and presentation of art in all disciplines while supporting women in art. This gallery sustains the emerging and established artist’s role in society providing a forum for critical dialogue with their audiences. It is a relationship cultivated through education and innovative programming and I’m pleased to be able to share this with Westsiders.”
In conjunction with Tailfish Music PR the gallery will feature several local musicians for Art and Friday Night Music.
