Just in from the poor etiquette and ungrateful party guest department …
Maybe it is about time for sometime Venice resident Jane Harman to give back the $1,203,707 that contributors paid for her to get elected and also break open her checkbook to pay for the cost of having another election.
From the National Journal:
Rep. Jane Harman, D-Calif., will resign her seat on Tuesday to become president of the Woodrow Wilson Center.
House Democratic aides confirmed that Harman has informed leadership that she will resign. Harman, a foreign policy hawk who previously served as ranking member of the Intelligence Committee before Democrats retook the House in 2006, was first elected to Congress in 1992 and served until 1998. She ran unsuccessfully for governor in 1998 then reclaimed her seat in 2000. Her relationship with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., had suffered in recent years when Pelosi did not back Harman to be Intelligence chairman.
She is married to businessman Sidney Harman, who recently purchased Newsweek from the Washington Post Company.
