The Venice Neighborhood Council (VNC) is heading towards a violation of California’s Open Meeting law in its consideration Tuesday of a Motion to support amendments to the City’s ban on living in vehicles without prior publication to the community of the text of the amendments. No other advisory or government body would think to endorse legislative amendments without having the language in front of them.
This action is being undertaken in complete disrespect of the residents of Venice.
Repeated requests to the council office, the City Clerk and the City Attorney for a copy of the text of the amendments have gone unanswered.
