Ever wanted to make a table, chair, desk or anything else super cool with your own hands? The Venice Community Adult School has a class to help you make that happen, and it starts tomorrow! It only costs 50 bucks for six classes and full use of the shop tools. If the class doesn’t get the minimum of 15 students, they will be shut down! The time to build is now, and the class isn’t just for dudes! Ladies, get your wood shop on!
From MT:
I have been attending bench carpentry class at Venice Community Adult School (at Venice High School) for the last five years, It’s a small and intimate class taught by a dedicated teacher. We have a fully equipped shop where students have created everything from violins to contemporary furniture.
We were heavily effected by the recent state budget cuts in adult education and have constantly lived under the threat of closure. It now looks like we will finally be shut down…unless we can get a minimum of 15 students to sign up for our new session starting Monday.
Classes run 6-9pm and will start on Monday September 13. There will be 2 classes a week for 3 weeks. Monday Sept. 13th, Tuesday Sept. 14th, Then on the 20th, 21st, 27th. and 28th. This session is amazing value at just $50 for all 6 classes.
To sign up take your check book or cash just before mondays class to the Venice community adult school office at Venice High School, 13000 Venice Blvd, (the corner of Venice and Walgrove) – the phone number is 310-577-4230
