21-year-old Shayne Carlson arrived in Venice today at the Venice Originals Skate Shop after a 3,200 mile record setting cross country skateboard fund raising trip. After doing some press interviews at the shop, Shayne headed down to the beach and jumped in the ocean. Congrats from all to Shayne!
Shayne set out on his cross country skateboard journey in honor and memory of his father William “Chief” Carlson, a CIA contractor who was killed during an ambush in Shkin, Afghanistan, in October 2003. Traveling an average of 50 miles a day and stopping at military bases along the way to raise funds for charities that help wounded special ops soldiers and their families, Shayne has raised over $25,000.
