MOTION
There is a great need to address homeless services in Venice as well as adjoining areas of Council District 11.
The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) conducts various homeless programs. There are good models of services to the homeless in Oregon and in Santa Barbara that could be replicated here in Los Angles.
Sufficient Funds are available in various Council District 11 funds for this purpose. This effort is of special benefits for the residents of the City and for Council District 11 and deserves financial assistance from the City.
I THEREFORE MOVE that $1,200,000 from the Venice Area Surplus Real Property Fund No. 434, and $92,000 from the Council District 11 portion of the Street Furniture Revenue Fund, and $190,841 from the Council District 11 Real Property Trust Fund, and $20,000 from the General City Purposes Fund No 100-56, Account Ng. 0711 t’C:D-11Community Services) TOTAL: $1,431,841, be allocated to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) to conduct a comprehensive homeless services prograniin Council District 11 modeled after the program in Santa Barbara that provides safe parking spaces and services for people living in their vehicles.

I FURTHER MOVE that the City Clerk be directed to prepare the necessary document(s) with Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), or any other agency or organization as appropriate, in the above amount, for the above purpose, subject to the approval of the City Attorney, if needed, and that the Councilmember of the District be authorized to execute any such documents on behalf of the City.
I FURTHER MOVE that the City Clerk be authorized to make any technical corrections or clarifications to the above instructions in order to effectuate the intent of this Motion.
