6. New Administrative Committee Business
A Administrative matters:
(i) LindaL Neighborhood Committee: Discussion and possible adoption (or forwarding to LUPC) of a recommendation by the Neighborhood Committee to work with Petal Patch www.pedalpatchcommunity.com to locate a Venice site and identify local charities to work on and receive vegetables grown.
[Postpone to 4/2010 AdCom]
(ii) Jim Murez re: Farmer’s Market Fridays – Can I suggest that each of the standing sub committees post their REGULAR hours at the table, example LUPC from 7-9 am; Neighborhoods from 9-11. Of course this would not preclude overlapping hours or others from helping. It also might relieve your weekly task of getting bodies by shifting the task to the committees. I think by setting regular hours by committee, people that really have questions will know when you find the right person in the “office”. This would also give communications a chance to announce office hours in all mailings and at meetings. NO reply needed, just a thought.—Jim [Postpone to 6/2010 AdCom]
(iii) Bruce Birch (retrogrouch@earthlink.net)
• Stakeholder request for the VNC Administrative Committee to address the methods and timeliness of all VNC standing and adhoc committees in the posting of meeting agendas and the recording and posting of meeting minutes.
• Stakeholder request for the Administrative Committee to review all Brown Act, VNC Bylaws, VNC Standing Rules, and Robert’s Rules of Order sections that apply to public meetings and records and direct all VNC Committees to comply.
• Stakeholder request that the VNC Administrative Committee direct the VNC Vice President to confirm that all Standing and Adhoc VNC Committees are in compliance with Brown Act, VNC Bylaws, VNC Standing Rules, and Robert’s Rules of Order and provide continuing oversight.
• Stakeholder request that all outstanding Public Records of the same committees be transferred to the VNC Secretary immediately.
(iv) Mike Newhouse: Placeholder for LUPC report: Challis, I know you and LUPC have been very involved with respect to issues concerning the crosswalk at Palms and Lincoln. I really appreciate the efforts.
While LUPC is not traditionally a transportation/mobility committee, I would like it to holdpublic meetings on the CalTrans/LADOT proposal to submit plans to put in a full traffic light that intersection. Again, while not a “traditional” LUPC issue, you all are the most qualified committee in the VNC to handle this important issue.
